Wherever there is danger, there lurks opportunity; wherever there is opportunity, there lurks danger. The two are inseparable.

In the recent months, the ways that investment firms are handling “return to the office” strategies has been approaching a consensus. Employees have returned to the office but rarely for five days a week; three or four days a week is the new norm. Tired of the virus, instead the most common conversational tidbits at the virtual watercoolers have been “it’s so hard to hire!” and “compensation is going crazy!” To give some perspectives on these, we have written two in-depth articles in this newsletter. The first covers the latest class of investment banking analysts and addresses topics like what they’re really getting paid, and what it takes to bring them on-board. The second delves into how the continued expansion of the private equity industry is creating demand for talent in both traditional and novel spaces.
We’re happy to engage further on either of these topics, hiring plans, or anything else,
and we wish you well for 2022.
